The ‘Most receiving yards in an NFL game’ quiz

The Minnesota Vikings lost to the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday, so they will have to wait at least one more week to clinch the NFC North. While his team faltered, Justin Jefferson once again put on a show, hauling in 11 catches for a franchise-record 223 yards. He currently leads the league with 1,500 receiving yards, and with four games still left to play, he has a real shot at becoming the first player in NFL history to register 2,000 receiving yards in a season. Should he fall just short though, one play from this past Sunday may prove to be the reason why. Late in the fourth quarter, Jefferson seemingly scored on what would have been a 71-yard TD reception. Officials said he stepped out of bounds during the play, which wasn’t reviewable, and the two-time Pro Bowler lost out on an extra 32 yards and a score as a result. Following the game, Jefferson took to Twitter to tell the NFL to “give me my TD”, a plea that is unlikely to alter the official boxscore. Still, Sunday’s effort was another in a long line of incredible showings from the league’s best wide receiver.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Had Jefferson not been ruled out of bounds, he would have had 254 yards in Sunday’s game, which would have put him in an exclusive fraternity. In NFL history, only 31 players have totaled 250 or more receiving yards in a regular-season game. So with that in mind, how many of the 31 can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
