Attention, food enthusiasts of Delhi! The Claridges Hotel has just unveiled an exciting culinary escapade that will leave your taste buds tingling with joy. The hotel has launched exclusive special set menus at Lutyens Deli, Pickwick, Jade, and Dhaba, and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the culinary wonders at Dhaba.
Stepping into Dhaba, I was immediately captivated by its rustic charm and warm ambience, setting the perfect stage for a truly authentic North Indian dining experience. The master chefs, Mahavir Singh and Dataram, have masterfully curated a menu that showcases the rich and vibrant flavours of Punjab’s culinary heritage.
The journey began with an array of flavour-packed starters, each tantalising the taste buds in its unique way. The Chicken Tikka, marinated in a creamy blend of spices and cooked to perfection in a clay pot oven, was an instant favourite. Equally delightful was the Mutton Seekh Kebab, tender minced lamb skewered and expertly cooked in a clay oven. Vegetarians are in for a treat with options like the Paneer Tikka, where delicate cottage cheese chunks are skillfully infused with spices and clay-oven-cooked, and the Tandoori Gobhi, a sumptuous cauliflower dish stuffed with mint and cheese, fried to perfection.
A Delectable Main Course for All Palates
Moving on to the main course, I indulged in the signature Balti Meat, a quintessential lamb shank curry that left me longing for more. The Butter Chicken, a creamy and rich delicacy, was another standout. Vegetarians are not left behind with the delightful Kanastree Baigan, an eggplant preparation brimming with flavours, and the Mix Vegetable, a medley of seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection with traditional Indian spices. The overnight Dal Makhni complemented the main dishes wonderfully and added a comforting touch to the meal.
The assortment of Indian bread on offer was a delight, and the Mix Vegetable Raita provided a refreshing balance to the spices. Finally, the dining experience at Dhaba culminated with the delightful Rabri, a condensed sweetened milk infused with saffron and nuts, leaving a delightful and lingering sweetness on the palate.
The attentive and courteous service further enhanced the overall dining experience at Dhaba. The staff’s warm hospitality added a personal touch, making the entire experience even more memorable.
At INR 2000 for an all-inclusive lunch, this exceptional dining experience at Dhaba is certainly well worth it. Whether you are a connoisseur of North Indian cuisine or just someone seeking an authentic and flavorful dining experience, Dhaba at The Claridges Hotel is a must-visit.
